The Met Museum Engagement Session | Grace & Andrew

Grace and Andrew were married in Italy last year! We can’t believe it’s taken this long to share their beautiful city engagement session. They’re both from New York City and wanted portraits at their favorite museum, so we were more than happy to oblige. Grace studied art in college so it was very important to her and the Met Museum was the perfect spot for their engagement portraits!

The Met Museum Engagement Session

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City offers an incredible setting for engagement sessions, with its stunning architecture, diverse art collections, and unique spaces. Like many museums in the city, planning a session takes careful timing and thought. For a successful engagement session at this museum particularly, timing is crucial. Arriving early, especially on weekdays when the museum first opens, ensures you can capture intimate moments without the crowds. Plus, the morning light is soft and beautiful, enhancing the overall aesthetic of your photos. It’s also important to have a backup plan since the museum’s layout and popular galleries can become crowded or restricted unexpectedly.

Seasonal exhibits or special collections can provide unique opportunities for your photos, but it’s essential to be aware of the museum’s rotating displays and their potential restrictions. The Met’s Roof Garden offers stunning views during warmer months, making it an ideal location for outdoor portraits. Finally, wondering what to wear for your engagement session at the Met? Elegant, timeless outfits are recommended, with soft neutral tones that complement the museum’s atmosphere. Grace and Andrew had a perfect look for their portraits at the museum. It was stylish, chic and simply beautiful!
