When we met in an AOL chatroom (the match.com of its day) 23 years ago, we could never have imagined the life we would get to lead. Love, marriage, and family quickly became the most important things in our lives as we built our life together. We feel so honored every time we get to be a part of someone else's story like this!

In our spare time (when we aren't out and about with you!) we love to hang out with our loved ones and our two mini golden doodles aka our children! We also have a passion for traveling and finding different cuisines and cocktails. We feel the strongest part of our marriage is balancing each other out; this is why we can spot your strengths as a couple and make your photos feel like you.

We built this business because of a terrible photographer

No, really. Our own wedding photos were generic, emotionally flat, and nothing like what we actually experienced that day. We looked at them and felt nothing. When we started our business we swore we'd never put another couple through that.

So in 2010, we picked up cameras and started building the thing we wished had existed for us.

Sixteen years later, J&R Photography is what happens when two people who know how important this is actually care about getting it right. Not just the photos but the whole experience. From the first email you send us to the moment you open your album.

We believe the best photos happen when people feel comfortable enough to fully be themselves. 

That means while one of us is capturing the grand moment, the other is already turned around watching your grandmother's reaction. Your wedding day happens once, and it happens in about twelve directions at once. Having two photographers who think differently, and who've been shooting together for over a decade, means the whole story gets told.

Meet Jen

Jenn is the reason everything runs the way it does. She's the Type A planner, the detail-keeper, the one who keeps family photos moving, and making sure the day flows without feeling rushed.

She cares deeply about creating an experience where couples feel comfortable, supported, and fully present.

The one who brings the laid-back energy couples didn’t realize they needed

Ro brings the energy that makes people forget they're being photographed. He's the one cracking jokes while simultaneously nailing the shot.

His eye for light, composition, and cinematic detail is what gives our images their depth and drama. But what clients remember most isn't his technical skill, it's how comfortable he made them feel.

We build the relationship first. The photos follow naturally.

Before we ever show up on your wedding day, we've already spent real time getting to know you. Not just through a questionnaire (though there is one of those, and it's great). Through actual conversations: a video call, your engagement session, and check-ins along the way. Because the more comfortable you are with us, the more honest your photos will be.

We create the conditions where the real moments can happen and then we're already in position when they do.
