We have been meaning to write blog posts about all of our favorite venues for a long time. Now in the midst of this pandemic, not only do we have the time but it is more important than ever to support our industry peers, especially those that without them, we would not have the locations to photograph the beautiful weddings that we capture.
The 2nd wedding venue on our list is the incredible Pleasantdale Chateau. Located in West Orange, NJ, the Pleasantdale Chateau is a vast estate created in the 1800s. When we first worked there in 2018, it was like being in a photographer’s playground. It was overwhelming in the best way possible. There is tons to photograph on the grounds of the property but even more to photograph indoors. Indoor photo opportunities can be rare at wedding venues, but we could literally spend all day inside at Pleasantdale Chateau. There are dozens of rooms but our absolute favorites are the pool room and the conservatory.
An extra perk for couples is the fact that you can take your engagement photos there! We did a session there recently for Georgia and Dave, who knew that they wanted to take advantage of the vastness of the property for their photos. This will allow them to have a wide variety of photos between their engagement and wedding day.
Aside from the aesthetics, the Pleasantdale staff is amongst one of the best we have worked with. Their Director of Operations and head maitre’d, Santiago makes sure every couple and guest is extremely well taken care of. He shows us vendors the utmost respect and communicates with us the entire day. On top of that, the food at Pleasantdale is off the chain! Their fresh mozzarella station…we are obsessed! We have a couple of more weddings lined up at Pleasantdale this year and we CAN NOT wait!
