Congratulations, Hana and Gabriel! Hana and Gabriel are huge book lovers that decided to have an NYC Elopement at City Hall in October. They only had their immediate families attend their City Hall ceremony. Afterwards, we kept things quiet and low-key, exploring the area around City Hall. We also went uptown to a local Barnes and Noble to incorporate their love of reading in some of their newlywed portraits! It was so fun to find silly books that we could pull into the photos. Hana and Gabriel couldn’t stop laughing together – and really, that’s what marriage and relationships are all about. Although Hana and Gabriel chose to plan a small elopement, they were one of the happiest, most in love couples we have seen. We love that their wedding day focused on what mattered most to them!
NYC Elopement at City Hall
Getting married at City Hall in NYC is a laid-back, no-fuss way to say “I do” that still feels special. Couples can head to the Marriage Bureau in Lower Manhattan, where the vibe is a mix of excitement, nerves, and a whole lot of love. You’ll need to grab your marriage license at least 24 hours in advance, then you can come back for a quick ceremony with an officiant. It’s all pretty easy! We love that people still show up dressed to the nines, with flowers, friends, and sometimes a photographer in tow (like us!). The whole thing has a cool, classic New York feel—simple, sweet, and unforgettable in its own way. If you’re considering whether or not to book a photographer for your elopement, we definitely say yes! You’re going to want photos from one of the most special days of your life.
