Those are some of the most challenging decisions in wedding planning, and you can cross them off your list!

With the fun stuff, like your engagement session! We offer professional engagement photos because we believe that they are a vital  part of the entire wedding process.

What Happens During an Engagement Shoot?

During your engagement session, you’ll have the chance to get to know us, experience how we shoot and how we handle posing and lighting.

Plus, we will get to know you! We’ll become fast friends on this day where we can take our time finding the perfect shots for you as a couple.

This session will make a huge impact on how the wedding day flows. So, yes, yes, yes, it IS worth it!

We’ll arrive on your wedding day already knowing how you two interact, what your best poses are, and how to photograph you in a genuine way!

The Main Benefits of an Engagement Shoot Before the Wedding

What we will learn about you during your engagement session is invaluable! You’ll be thanking yourselves over and over again for doing an engagement session because it will make your wedding day less stressful.

The best benefit of all — you will feel like such a pro on your big day because of the great practice you had during your engagement session. That’s how it should be! You can relax and enjoy your day knowing every moment is being captured in a way that makes you look your best!

When to Schedule Your Engagement Shoot

Your engagement session can be scheduled any time before your wedding day. We usually suggest booking it at least 3-6 months in advance to avoid stress. Plus, then you get some excellent professional photos in a different season than your wedding. Bonus!

The best time for an engagement shoot is the evening on a weekday. Places are less likely to be crowded, and we’ll have all finished our workday and can have some fun together!

The best timing may vary slightly depending on the light and the time of the year. In the winter months, 3-5 pm is a typical time frame for a session!  In the summertime, it will be later. Hello, warm sunny glow!

Where to Have Your Engagement Shoot

As you plan for your engagement shoot, you will need to start brainstorming about location ideas.  We LOVE it when couples pick a location that is special or sentimental to them in some way!

If you can’t think of anywhere specific that you would like to shoot, we can help you decide on a location!

If the light is fantastic, we can make ANY location look awesome! We shoot at farms, campuses, downtown alleys, and even the local mall! Do not shy away from crazy ideas! The more creative, the better!
