When to Schedule Your Engagement Shoot

Your engagement session can be scheduled any time before your wedding day. We usually suggest booking it at least 3-6 months in advance to avoid stress. Plus, then you get some excellent professional photos in a different season than your wedding. Bonus!

The best time for an engagement shoot is the evening on a weekday. Places are less likely to be crowded, and we’ll have all finished our workday and can have some fun together! 

The best timing may vary slightly depending on the light and the time of the year. In the winter months, 3-5 pm is a typical time frame for a session!  In the summertime, it will be later. Hello, warm sunny glow!

Where to Have Your Engagement Shoot

As you plan for your engagement shoot, you will need to start brainstorming about location ideas.  We LOVE it when couples pick a location that is special or sentimental to them in some way! 

If you can’t think of anywhere specific that you would like to shoot, we can help you decide on a location!  

If the light is fantastic, we can make ANY location look awesome! We shoot at farms, campuses, downtown alleys, and even the local mall! Do not shy away from crazy ideas! The more creative, the better!
