Central Park was the most natural choice for Samantha and Stephen’s engagement session. They live in NYC and spend a lot of time in the park, so it felt like photographing a place that’s already part of their life together. They told us going into the session that they were nervous, but you would never know it from the photos because they absolutely killed it. We don’t normally photograph in Central Park in the evening because of the crowds, but we got lucky. The park wasn’t packed, and the golden light was incredible. We loved it so much that we’re actually considering doing more evening sessions there moving forward.
We did a ton of walking and talking throughout the session and got to learn so much more about Samantha and Stephen along the way. That time together is one of our favorite parts of engagement sessions. By the time the wedding comes around, we don’t want to feel like strangers showing up with cameras. We want it to feel like friends walking in the door. We’ll get to do exactly that when these two get married next year at Crossed Keys Estate, and we’re already looking forward to celebrating with them.
