In mid-December we put out a model call for holiday themed engagement photos in New York City. The plan was to visit all of the holiday hot spots that were decorated for the season- Rockefeller, 5th Ave, Wall Street, The Vessel, etc.
The same week we put out the call, our friends Eric and May got engaged and we immediately thought they would be perfect! We planned to shoot the following week but a bout of Covid, the holidays and life itself, made us postpone for another month. Since the holiday theme was now out the window, we really could have waited for a warm, spring day but we were itching to shoot, so we hit the NYC streets on a bitter cold January afternoon.
Since this was a personal project, there was no limit on time, we experimented and tried things we haven’t done before. For 5 hours, we braved the cold and visited Freedom Hall, the Oculus, the New York Public Library, and The Vessel. We found some random, cool things on our expedition as well and overall had an incredible time. Major shout out to Eric, May and our assistant for the day, Moses for withstanding the freezing cold! We think it was worth it!
