In this post, we will run through the questions we get asked most often by couples who are looking to work with us.
This is a fun one! Enjoy!
Q: What is your shooting style?
A: FUN! We love to create a comfortable environment with our clients and their loved ones so we can capture authentic moments as they happen.
Q: Do you recommend doing a “first look”?
A: In short: YES! Let us explain. Also, we have a full post on this here.
The biggest pro to having a first look is having the time to complete all portraits before your wedding ceremony. This includes portraits of the newlyweds and family formals.
Using this time before the ceremony allows us to know we are not rushing through a portrait session after the ceremony, and we get a wide variety of images.
And the best part about building in 1-2 hours before your wedding ceremony for portraits? You will more than likely make your whole cocktail hour! Who doesn’t want to make sure they get their hands on the best food of the night?!
Q: How many images will we receive?
A: We average anywhere between 50-100 images per hour of coverage, depending on the wedding day.
You will receive a password protected on-line gallery with instructions on how to download the images straight to your computer.
You can also order prints and albums through the same website!
We’ve made it easy on you!
Q: When will we receive our wedding photos?
A: Images are delivered 8-10 weeks after the wedding.
Q: Do you post the images online?
A: After your wedding, we post teasers on our Facebook, Instagram, and right here on our blog!
Your images may also be published by popular wedding blogs like The Knot or Zola! Exciting!
Q: Do you travel for weddings?
A: Yes!! If you are planning a destination wedding, a lot of the details in these blog posts will not apply to you!
Your details, your timeline, and even your preparation for the big day will be much simpler.
However, it is a good idea to start thinking about a few key components of the day, such as: your ceremony time and your ceremony/portrait locations (some destination weddings require some planning to find portrait locations without tourists in the background).
Be sure to check the sunset time at your wedding location before settling on your ceremony time.
As your wedding day draws closer, we’ll begin to chat about the timeline of the day and the travel arrangements.
This is one of our favorite things to do- get away with you! Get excited!! This is going to be amazing!!
Q: What do we do if they are calling for rain?
One of the TOP most frequently asked questions that we receive during wedding season is, “Soooo, what do you do if it RAINS?!”
We want to reassure you that even if it rains, you will still have beautiful portraits!
We get it. We know that rain isn’t ideal, and no one would wish for rain on their big day, but if it happens, it happens….. and it’s going to be JUST fine!!
Some of our best weddings have been on rainy wedding days! Here are a few things to remember if it’s rainy on your wedding day:
We are always here for you! If a question you have was not answered on this list, we’d be more than happy to answer it. Just shoot us an email at info@jrphotony.com, and we will answer you as soon as we can! We can’t wait to see what your wedding day has in store.
