We are always there for when a couple says “I Do” so we were super excited when Matt reached out to us to capture his Central Park proposal. We were finally going to be there when she says “Yes!”.
Matt and his girlfriend are visiting New York from Canada so there was quite a bit of coordination on the back end in the weeks leading up to the big day. With lunch reservations made at Marea, Matt was going to suggest visiting nearby Central Park beforehand. We chose Sheep Meadow for a couple of reasons- 1. Wide open space with more visibility to locate Matt and Elaine. 2. A great backdrop of the city!
We arrived half an hour ahread of our scheduled time to scout the location and as suspected, not too crowded but with enough people that we could blend in. Unfortunately for Matt, his Uber driver sucked and brought them super late to Sheep Meadow. Anxiety from the pending proposal topped off with frustration with the driver led Matt to drop to one knee almost the second they hit the field haha! Luckily we ran pretty quickly to capture some photos and Elaine’s unwavering excitement allowed us to recreate it again just in case!
We had planned for a few engagement photos immediately following the proposal which we did at the mall, Bethesda Terrace, and a few in Columbus Circle. These two were all smiles the entire time and so ready to start celebrating with their friends and family.
Congrats to Elaine and Matt!
